Hey folks! So it’s a few weeks till the RS comrades and myself will be exhibiting at the upcoming MCM London Comic Con, and we’re all prepping for the event with some new stuff and a few favourites making a return. I’m also looking to do more commission sketches at the event, and recently purchased some new pens and trying out shading techniques. I don’t draw or sketch much on paper these days, but it’s fun to do with I get the chance.
The two sketches are of MGS‘s Snake aka Big Boss (took about 45mins with refs and getting use to the new pens) and SF3/SF4‘s Yang (with a hoodie for a change. Took 30mins).
The pens I used were a permanent black marker, 0.1 & 0.8mm Fine line pens, New to the set: Two Shin Han Art: Touch twin Pens Cool Gray and warm Gray Grade 1’s (I went with grade 1’s for safety, as I wasn’t sure how dark these pens would be. But I think I’ll go a grade up next time.) And lastly a Paint pen for highlights and Contrast lines. Considering that I don’t draw on paper much these days, I got pretty much the results I wanted, though Snake’s eye needed to be squinting more I feel haha.
Looking forward to the event. Quite a few of my favourite TV shows are back on, and busy recently with commission work that’s underway, so things are looking good at the moment.Catch you later, folks! 😉
